Just a quick update.
Penny's Spay Day was yesterday. It went very well, and she came home sore and groggy, but happy to be home. She's on Metacam for pain (that's what she's on for her left elbow injury).
She ate fine last night, but she wasn't interested in breakfast. Since Metacam is a liquid, I just went ahead and put a couple of drops on her tongue (we've found a half dose, twice a day, is more effective for her than one single full dose).
And the vet's scales confirmed what I knew. Penny has gained weight. She's now at about 9.5 pounds. This is the perfect weight for her, so I'm very happy to see it. It's a far, far cry from the little 7.2 pound waif we picked up at the end of July.
So little Penny is now spayed, and resting comfortably here at home. I'm hoping for more outside pictures soon, too, if the heat breaks.
